Both signings would require Chelsea to sell existing foreign stars fromtheir squad under the Premier League's new home-grown rule.
This requires clubs to name no more than 17 foreigners over the age of 21 as part of their domestic squad. At present, Chelsea have 17.
Carlo Ancelotti said: "The new rule is the same as the one in the Champions League, so we are not surprised. It is a rule that can help to improve the academies at all the clubs.
"I'm happy because it's important for our academy; we have good players there. They need to stay with the squad and they will have more chances this year."
